Take a look at our staff review for this week’s featured book!

Title: Unbound: A Novel in Verse
Author: Ann E. Burg
Pages: Listened to 3 CDs 3.5 hrs
Lexile level: 900L
Recommendations & Comments: If you are a historical fiction fan you should read this book because it puts you right in the south during the time of slavery. Being a kids book, it is not overly graphic. However, they do talk about the inhumane treatment blacks received. Grace is a relatable character because she wants to speak her mind but can’t without horrible consequences. Once her family is on the run, new dangers are introduced to the story.
