Scandal was groundbreaking in many ways. It was one of the first TV shows that revolutionized how viewers interact with live content (Live-Tweeting), while also laying the foundation for diversity in narratives as well as casting.

Although nothing can ever truly replace Olivia Pope, below are a few books you can read to get your weekly dose of politics, romance, murder, and betrayal.

Molly Malone Mysteries by Maggie Sefton (also available in Large Print)

There were no shortage of deaths on Scandal when someone was either in the way or too close to the truth. In this series by Maggie Sefton, Molly Malone learns that her niece has been having an affair with a congressional chief of staff. After the niece is found shot to death Molly investigates and is led down a dark path of corruption and deception in the US Capitol.

Shining City by Tom Rosenstiel

Peter Rena and his partner Randi Brooks are "fixers" just like Olivia Pope & Associates! When the duo gets hired to vet the president's nominee for the Supreme Court, they find themselves working double duty to not only cover the judge's past, but also to save his life after a string of seemingly random killings move closer to home.

Law of Attraction by Allison Leotta

Remember the good ol' days when David Rosen was just an Assistant U.S Attorney trying to find out if an election was rigged? Meet Anna Curtis, Assistant U.S Attorney in Washington, D.C who handles domestic violence cases. Laprea Johnson, Anna's latest case, lies on the witness stand and frees her abusive boyfriend, only to later be found dead. Things get even more complicated when Anna's own boyfriend is the defensive attorney for the accused.

Capital Wives by Rochelle Alers

They meet at a high profile political event and develop a deep friendship. The women lean on one another as they struggle to fill the void in their marriages and find their own happiness.
