Widowed Toronto police detective William Murdoch welcomes his estranged son home from the war; but Murdoch is distracted from the reunion with his troubled son by the apparently random murder of a young man.
"I chose this book because I wanted to tie in to the library’s programming around WWI in honor of the 100 year anniversary of the end of the war. I chose a mystery set in Canada to look at the war through a Canadian lens – something I didn’t have much previous knowledge about. Plus this title is the latest installment in the popular Murdoch mystery series which I was interested in reading." -- Meghan
