Wild Decembers by Edna O'Brien

A great book for discussion.  The book was so popular, it was made into a feature film on Irish television.  Pick up a copy at the Adult Services desk on the second floor and join us for tea and cookies while we talk about it!

A beautiful, tragic tale set in the west country of Ireland. It is a story of three people – a sister, a brother, and a newcomer coming to claim his inheritance -- and the Irish mountainside they now have to share.
"This wonderful book by O’Brien illustrates the Irish connection to the land and the impact of the loss of people to the big cities. There is the complication of a farmer being brought into the modern century by coping with changes brought by an Irish-Australian. History and romance make this book fascinating to read." -- Kathy
