Celebrate America Recycles Day

Get green on Nov. 15th

The Oak Lawn Public Library has an internal Green Team to promote environmentally sound practices around the library.  Changing outdated lights to energy efficient ones, offering recycling throughout the library, minimizing light usage when rooms are not in use, and installing hand dryers in the updated bathrooms are just a few projects the Green Team supports.

Have you taken advantage of the water bottle refill station near the entrance of the Youth Services Department? Over 5000 disposable bottles have been replaced by patrons refilling their containers at this station since its installation.

Please refill your container at our water bottle refill station

This November 15th, and hopefully every day, don't forget the 4 R's: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle & Rethink. Whether it is using a reusable bag for items you check out, refilling a container instead of tossing it, or donating unwanted books to the Friends of the Oak Lawn Public Library, the Green Team thanks you for your efforts.
